Lalem, an Ethiopian, has been in Israel for about 10 years, she fled Ethiopia because of her opposition to the regime and even underwent torture in prison.

She is currently the mother of a 7-year-old Israeli citizen whom she is raising jointly with her ex-husband, an Israeli citizen, who supports her request to remain in Israel.

We filed an application with her about three years ago, and recently, following our appeal to the ICC for a decision, she received humanitarian status and can begin building her life
